Jody and I went to see Jamie Foxx here in OKC. It was a good time, but i was somewhat disappointed. It wasn't quite what I had expected. I was hoping he would also do some comedy during the show, but he just sang, which sounded great once they fixed his sound, but he did several remixes with a live band so it just sounded different.
We sure can't complain about the interesting people we saw that night. Even the comedian who opened the show went on and on about how everyone dressed to come out to the show- it was very entertaining. I still love Jamie Foxx and had a great night.

Concert at the zoo

Last Saturday night we went out to the Zoo Amphitheater to see Cross Canadian Ragweed. I have never been there for a concert, so i didn't really know what to expect.
There were so many people at the concert, it was wild. I must not forget to mention all types of people, it was a bit scary at times...picture the variety of people you see out at the state fair and add too much alcohol to their system. I figured there would be a lot of cowboys and that kind of crowd, don't get me wrong there were several, just not as many as I expected. We almost saw a few fights too, I think we saw a little bit of everything out there. The concert was a sold out and the newspaper reported that over 10,000 people were there, I believe it. The place was jam packed!!! We were glad we got there when we did and not any earlier because it was so crowded. Buckcherry was playing when we got there, then Cross Canadian Ragweed came on and Stoney LaRue also preformed a few songs with them. It was a good show!

FOO'

I got a free ticket to go to the Foo-Fighters concert with a couple of my girlfriends (Millie & Alisha). We had so much fun...I didn't think i would know very much of their music, but i was surprised that I actually did. They put on a great concert- glad I went!!

Live blues in the heart of Bricktown

Saturday we ate at Toby Keith’s for the 1^st time, for Traci’s B-day. I was not impressed at all, but i wanted to go b/c it was on my life list and it was Traci’s B-day. I was disappointed with the food- it was just OK and quite expensive, although the atmosphere is neat.

After dinner we went to the Blues Fest held in a large parking lot outside. Last year we caught the very end, so I defiantly wanted to check it out this year. There was quite an interesting crowd, so I got to people watch a bit. You can only imagine biker type people and much more or should I say a bit more revealing. The concert was pretty crowded with nowhere to sit but in the back. As the night went on we snagged some chairs as people left. We ended up with pretty good seats closer to the stage where we could actually see. The bands we saw were pretty talented, I had fun and it was a good night!

We saw it all, some Crazy, Neat, Strange, Contemporary, Modern, and Interesting Art! It was the 32nd annual event, that is held every memorial day weekend. We got to hear live music, get a little sun, and eat the best food!

Complements of Nick, since it was "officially" my b-day- I know what your thinking....yes I did drink a little- but trust me, I payed for it the next day when I had to go to work. All my co-workers gave me heck all morning and my boss told me he expected me to call in sick since he knew I had friends in town. So, since I arrived at work before he did he said I deserved the afternoon off and let me go home early!

WinterJam Tour 08

Thursday night I went to the Winter Jam Tour with Courtney, her son Nolan, and his friend. It was the boy's 1st concert, so that was pretty fun. There were so many people there, especially kids! So I now know what it’s like to go to a teenager’s concert...LOL

We saw Mercy Me, Skillet, Barlow Girl, New Song, Mandisa-from American Idol, and the BMX Skate Team (I believe that was the boy's favorite and we had very close seats for that). The concert is put on every year by different artists making it Christian music's largest annual musical tour. We had lots of excitement- so glad we went :)

My Valentine

Here are a few pictures I forgot I had on my camera from our Valentines Weekend. We went out to dinner at Deep Fork Grill where I got the beautiful roses below and I was shocked that they lasted for 2 weeks!
After dinner we met up with Joe and Mist (pictured below) and went to the Paseo district and listened to some live music from some local bands. I really liked the girl who played, don't remember her name but she sounded a bit like Norah Jones or Jewel...and she was pretty talented on the harmonica too!

Music Hall Performance....

Our bowling plans for Saturday night oddly enough turned into going to a Art Garfunkel Concert instead. My boss offered us his tickets, so we decided to go check it out. The Oklahoma Symphony Orchestra opened the concert, which was really good live. Garfunkel's performance included popular favorites from the hits of Simon and Garfunkel "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and "Mrs. Robinson." There were a few that we recognized, but most we had never heard. We did have lot of fun and were laughing that he sprinkled some glitter in that wig of his....ha-ha-ha. We were not the youngest ones there, but almost! :)

BLUES...

Last Friday i flew up to Kansas City for my last trip & we drove to Westport, which is a popular spot to the locals in Kansas City. We went to a blues place called Blayney's. We saw a band called The Nace Brothers. They first played together in 1981 and twenty-four years later, they're still going strong. They have even played with people such as Jimmy Buffett ,Merle Haggard , and Pat Green...they were pretty good and had a 70's/blues style. We had a excellent time. Something paculur to me, the drummer stood the whole time he played the drums & sang!

Last weekend we went to Kansas City, MO. We had a blast and stayed in the Zona Rosa area. (NN)

We went to O'Dowd's, an Irish Pub where we sat on the roof top and listened to a live band. Saturday night we had dinner at my all time favorite restaurant Bravo and then went to Tomfooleries, another roof top restaurant. What a great weekend in Kansas City :)
