I Found Nemo...

A few weeks ago we went on our annual river trip to float the Illinois River near Tahlequah, OK. It got up to 104 deg. there, which was a very hot weekend but lots of fun! On the way home from our weekend of fun we stopped in the town of Jenks and went threw the OK Aquarium. I was unaware that Oklahoma had an aquarium but was quite impressed with it. (Jenks is on the outskirts of Tulsa)
The Aquarium has several galleries from Fishes of Oklahoma, Shark Exhibit, to oceanic saltwater fish and creatures. We even got to feed the turtles, pet stingrays, and walk through a tunnel that allows you to see the largest bull sharks in captivity swimming alongside and right over your head! Pretty cool place to check out if your ever in the area!

Oklahoma Sunset

Saturday night sunset is an amazing view out at Lake Hefner at the new restaurant, Mama Roja . Mama Roja, is a Mexican restaurant (tex-mex)located on Lake Hefner's east wharf. On weekend nights, it's often difficult to get a table at any restaurant out on the lake without a lengthy wait, but we were lucky enough to catch one right as we arrived. It was such a a beautiful night with a great view and live music. -Pure Enjoyment.

Last month our friends had a BBQ in Edmond. Our friend Erica was in town also. She moved away to Korea to teach English. It was really nice to see her and she was telling us about her adventure there in Korea and how different life is there. I miss Erica, she is a lot of fun!!!

Xi Eta Gamma Shower

I have been asked to post a few pictures from my shower hosted by my sorority, so here they are! We had a Mexican theme part with Mexican food (my favorite) and drinks, it was fun, thanks girls for all the great food and nice gifts. Unfortunately the only pictures I have are of me opening gifts....

Girls Weekend!

What a Blast we had! A few girlfriends and I went to South Padre for the weekend and had so much fun!!! Carrie made shirts for us to wear out Saturday night. We got to lay out on the beach and play in the ocean all day Friday and most of Saturday.... The weather was perfect! We all got a lot of sun and I am still peeling on my arms and shoulders, which a I rarely experience, but well worth it. I am happy that I will have a good base tan started for when we go to Antigua. :)

Parasailing in Padre...

We had way too much fun!!!


The girls and I who went to South Padre, TX with me last weekend got to go parasailing for the 1st time. I must say I was a bit scared at first, but as soon as we were in the air I loved every minute of it! I am so glad we went it was so neat!!! I will definitely go again.

Wanda's 30...somthing Celebration!

Oklahoma State Fair

We really like to go to the fair for all the good food! We ate everything from an extra long corn dog to homemade cinnamon rolls, which we stood in line for 40 mins. They were quite tasty.

We got to hear Hanson play their infamous song "MMMBOP", saw all the new makes of the new out coming cars, and Jody won me another stuffed animal playing one of the carny games!

Speed Racer

We went carting out at the Arbuckles and I happened to get the FAST car! I was the last to start and I blew them all away after a few laps. We had a blast. I don't think I ever took my foot off the gas! There was no one there in line to ride, so I think they let us go a bit longer. I love to ride go-karts, I remember doing it as a kid. Fun Stuff!

Here is my rant,,,

A few weeks ago a large group of us went downtown to eat at a new restaurant called Red Prime. It was our friend Misty's b-day. The inside was pretty cool The food pretty good, but price was a little ridiculous, but since we rarely go somewhere like this we thought we deserved to splurge a little. Jody had a Rib eye that was $49 and I had a Fillet that was $38 (which was the cheapest steak on the menu) that also did not include your salad or side items, those were extra of course!!! Wow! The food was pretty good (but not worth the price in my opinion) and our service was fine until we finished our meal and asked for our checks. Long story short after waiting 45 minutes for each of our checks we were all restless-ready to leave- and quite mad!!! Good food- Bad service, although I must say I was quite impressed when the waiter said the house would take care of all the checks, there were about 9 of us so that was probably around $600 they lost. Our ticket alone was $110.00 Crazy, I have never had that happen to me ever! I have mixed reviews about the restaurant, but I have a feeling we probably won't ever go there again.

Rivertastic!

This past weekend we floated the Illinois river near Tahlequah, OK. We went with a big group of people and stayed in the bunk houses. We did the 12 mile float because the water was up 6ft. above normal and flowing like crazy. Usually our group does the 6 mile, but we heard that the 1st part of the river was moving rapidly, so we decided to go for the 12. The river actually had a few small rapids which made it more exciting. We all had a lot of fun and couldn't have asked for better weather!!!
