Girly BINGO Night

The girls from my chapter (Xi Eta Gamma) and I hosted our 6th annual (non-profit)Bingo Night this year here in Oklahoma City. Every year we pick a charity to send all our profits to and this year we picked Ally's House. We raised over $600.00 in 2hours! We all had a great time and were happy to have raised so much. This is the 1st year we did a theme night. We dolled the event up with rhinestones for the bingo markers and guests wore beads, boas, tiaras, or hats. This is such a fun event and we always give away some of the best prizes. Prizes this year included wine baskets, large flower arrangements, chocolate baskets, spa basket, & overflowing makeup bags.

Pet Photo Shoot with the Pet Lovers

Kinsler was the worlds bravest cat yesterday! He took his picture with 6 other dogs for the Free To live Calendar. Our cat has never been around a dog before, I thought he did quite well being around 6 of them. He did the normal hair frizz, some hissing, and growling, but was quite calm for the most part.

Free To Live is a non-profit sanctuary for stray, mistreated, and abandoned cats and dogs. It is also the largest no-kill sanctuary in Oklahoma.

Stamp out hunger

On May 8th mail carriers collected more than 630,000 pounds of food for the stamp out hunger food drive, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Since we knew they would need lots of help after receiving all these donations we decided to volunteer. Our small group worked in the sorting area where we divided each food items into different categories.

We had a lot of fun! I was impressed with how large and nice this facility is. Glenda, Jane, Jill, Cheryl, and I.


One in eight people are at risk of going without food every day in our country according to the USDA. In Oklahoma, the risk for children is even more extreme as 1 in 5 children are "food insecure." ~ This inspires me to help out where I can to make a difference! Xi Eta Gamma Shower

I have been asked to post a few pictures from my shower hosted by my sorority, so here they are! We had a Mexican theme part with Mexican food (my favorite) and drinks, it was fun, thanks girls for all the great food and nice gifts. Unfortunately the only pictures I have are of me opening gifts....

Ha,ha,ha- We look silly I know, but thats what makes it fun.
This picture was taken at the Valentines Ball we attended for my sorority. I thought this was a creative idea. Every year the hosting chapter chooses a theme and this year the theme was "A Night in Vegas", therefore the playing card cut outs went great with their theme.

And BINGO is its NAME-O!

Tonight my sorority and I hosted a Bingo Night as a fund raiser for a local charity. Last year we gave everything we raised to the children at Positive Tomorrows. We will vote next week and decide who we are donating to this year. We had about 50 ladies attend and had a lot of fun. We played 10 rounds of different bingo games and use macaroni noodles for bingo chips. Each winner received a very nice gift basket that we individually made and or donate, the baskets alway turn out so nice. I didn't win this year, but last year I won a spa basket and I had stuff to last me for about 6 months. I was great.

Book Sale Extravaganza!

The annual book sale has come and gone. Each year our sorority volunteers to work at the Friends of the Library book sale out at the fair grounds where thousands attend. There were over 250,000 items. Each paper book goes for $.50 and the hard back books sale for $1.00. So you can imagine how excited book lovers get. I love watching them rush in with suitcases or duffel bags as shopping carts to scoop up the bargains. We always have a lot of fun volunteering there!

Valentine Ball

This weekend we attend a formal Valentine's Dance here in Oklahoma City. The theme was "Dancing with the Stars."We got all dressed up and had cocktails, dinner, followed by dancing. I love to dance!

There were about 15 of us total from my chapter including our dates, over all 250 people, it was quite an event. We won the door prize at our table (a bottle of red wine)!

Founders Day 2007-

Last Thursday night our chapter hosted the event in Edmond and catered in On the Border (Yum!) Pictured to the right are my Sorority Sisters. Jill is next to me in blue. Jill is the owner of Toby the cat who i cat sits for 6 months while her husband, Matt and her were in Switzerland for his job.

Saturday Brunch

My chapter held a potential member social brunch for women who have shown an interest in joining Beta Sigma Phi last Saturday morning. I made Sausage Cheeses Balls for the 1st time, i made about 50 and didn't come home with any, so need less to say they were a big hit!!!
