The Domestic Pig

This is the fountain named Boar! Its a reproduction of a marble statue made by the Greeks b/f the time of Christ that now sits in Florence, Italy. There are only 3 reproductions ever produced. This one in KC- was built in 1962 and serves as a wishing fountain where the contributions go to Children's Mercy Hospital.

This particular fountain has got to be one of the ugliest ones i have ever seen, but its kind of growing on me. Some day i want to see the real one in Florence!
